One of the original Serteens, he was the charter president of the Serteen Club when it was established.
A graduate of Kalani High School, he holds a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY, with a concentration in civil and systems engineering, and a Masters of Military Arts and Sciences from the United States Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, KS.
He has had a variety of jobs to include serving with the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the United States Pacific Command.
After retiring from the U.S. Army he has focused much of his efforts on taking care of his mother, Sertoma, and the Serteen program. He supported the Serteen program while in service as time allowed. He served on the Sertoma, Inc. Board of Directors starting in 2015. He served as the President of Sertoma, Inc. during the 2021-2022 fiscal year. Sertoma, Inc. is the parent organization of the Honolulu Sertoma Club.
He has been working as an Advisor since 2002 when he returned to Hawaii for the final time. It was an opportunity for him to use his skills as a mentor, leader, trainer, and planner and to help pass on these skills to another generation.
